Artists of the Outback Creative - Amanda Brooks
Who are your Influences?
I am inspired and influenced by the impressionists ,I also am extremely Visual and inspired by nature , interiors , colour, texture.
Where in Australian do you find is your best source of inspiration?
Nature is the best source of inspiration , there is inspiration everywhere , dawn until dusk.
What do you find are the most difficult subjects to capture/ paint/ draw?
I would have to say human portraiture and figures
What makes you start to create a piece and how do you know when you are finished?
I go by instinct and feelings - I have an urge to paint something - I’m not sure an artist ever knows when they are finished - I do try very hard not to overwork a painting - I hate it when my art feels laboured and overworked
Do you have an artwork you are most proud of and why?
The art I paint that has the most movement and looseness would be my favourite - I don’t have a single favourite.
What is your most important artist tool? Is there something you can’t live without?
Good quality paint and art products - it’s worth it to spend the money on the best!
What would you like to achieve out of your art?
To make people smile and feel happy when they purchase their painting! I love to make people smile.
Where do you see yourself in a couple of years?
Hopefully improving as I go along ! I’m very happy where I’m at - so if I’m in this happy place in 2 years time - I’m happy . If you have the job you love - you never work a day in your life - I’m already there and grateful everyday.
