Shades of red and blue are overlaid with patterns of red, pink and gold in this abstract mixed media artwork. Woven strips of recycled paper have been wrapped around a light weight canvas and painted with acrylics, additional pieces of gold paper added. Referencing aerial images of mining in the West Australian desert, the patterns and marks represent the impact on the land, destructive but strangely beautiful when viewed from above.
